I LOVE where I live, do you? Come and see Loudoun County, Virginia through my eyes. Let me show you around.

Then, I will help you find the perfect home and make Loudoun your own! I’ve lived here since 1997 and I’ve watched our small towns grow and become even more quaint at the same time. Historic Leesburg is just 25 miles from Washington, DC. Attractions for outdoor enthusiasts, foodies, beer and wine aficionados, history buffs and don’t forget the horses, hounds and foxes. Today’s focus: The W&OD Trail. Did you know that the W&OD trail is 45 miles long? It originally carried the train from Shirlington to Purcellville with many stops in between.

The train was called the Washington and Old Dominion. The trail is a beloved and scenic historic destination to walk, run, or even ride your horse. Almost half of the trail is located within Loudoun County! The lowest point is at the beginning in Shirlington at 141 ft. The highest point is at Clarke’s Gap at 610 feet. A gradual incline all the way to where it ends in Purcellville with a total elevation change of 469 feet. Here is the email for more information on the W&OD trail: novaparks@nvrpa.org
